(Reuters) – Establishment-backed Democrats muscled previous liberal challengers in key New Jersey congressional races on Tuesday, effects confirmed, as electorate in eight U.S. states, together with a very powerful California, selected candidates for November’s midterm elections. Democrats, buoyed by way of President Donald Trump’s deficient approval rankings and a string of victories in particular elections, hope to achieve a majority in the 435-seat U.S. House of Representatives by way of flipping 23 seats this autumn.
