Union leaders to meet General Electric in bid to save Virginia jobs


Union leaders plan to meet with General Electric Co on Wednesday in a bid to avert closure of a Virginia manufacturing facility that makes controls for GE’s energy crops, the corporate and the union mentioned on Tuesday. General Electric mentioned closing week that it intends to stop production on the facility and get rid of about 265 jobs as a result of declining energy plant orders. The Boston-based business conglomerate is beneath power to generate enlargement and benefit in its $35 billion energy trade after steep declines closing 12 months.
