Tropical storm closes in on Florida, Alabama and Mississippi


Gulf Coast citizens will have to “take this storm severely”, the National Weather Service mentioned early on Sunday, as Subtropical Storm Alberto drove north, threatening heavy rains and winds to the southern coastal states. Florida, Alabama and Mississippi declared states of emergency on Saturday because the storm threatened as much as 12 inches of rain over the Memorial Day weekend and tidal surges and destructive winds, in step with Patrick Burke of the elements carrier’s Weather Prediction Center in College Park, Maryland.
