Movie producer Weinstein surrenders on sex assault charges


By Alice Popovici NEW YORK (Reuters) – Film producer Harvey Weinstein surrendered on Friday to government at a New York City police station on sex crime charges, months after he was once toppled from Hollywood’s maximum robust ranks via ratings of girls accusing him of misconduct. More than 70 ladies have accused the co-founder of the Miramax movie studio and Weinstein Co of sexual misconduct, together with rape, with some allegations courting again a long time. The accusations, first reported via the New York Times and the New Yorker closing 12 months, gave upward push to the #MeToo motion during which masses of girls have publicly accused robust males in trade, executive and leisure of misconduct.
