Ex-Michigan State president apologizes in gymnastics sex abuse scandal


By Makini Brice and David Shepardson WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The president of Michigan State University, who resigned in the wake of a scandal involving a health care provider who was once convicted of molesting younger feminine gymnasts, apologized in written testimony sooner than a U.S. Senate Committee on Tuesday. “I’m so sorry relied on, famend doctor became out to be an evil predator, and I’m sorry that we didn’t uncover his crimes and take away him from our group faster,” Lou Anna Simon, who resigned as president of Michigan State in January, stated in testimony. “Now, my hope is that we be informed from those horrific occasions.” Nassar labored at an on-campus medical institution at Michigan State.
