Cougar kills U.S. mountain biker, mauls another, later shot


The mountain bikers have been using in combination down a faraway, backwoods path at 11 a.m. (2 p.m. ET) in a space close to North Bend, Washington state, round 30 miles (48 km) east of Seattle, when the 2 males encountered the animal. Cougars are the fourth biggest cat species international, with grownup women folk weighing as much as 141 kilos (64 kgs) and men weighing up to 220 kilos (100 kgs).
