California's strangest buildings


Roadside structure, a development that had its heyday in 1930s Southern California, was once as soon as pushed aside by way of critics. But now it is playing a resurgence. An enormous doughnut, a shoe-shaped shoe restore store, an ice cream parlor that appears like a large owl and a scorching canine as large as a firetruck: few puts on the earth have as many loopy buildings as Southern Calfornia, and those are simply among the eye-grabbing oddities that pepper the streets of the Greater Los Angeles house.
